Introduction
Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) constituted in 1989 (2045 BS) is a national autonomous apex body of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector committed for the production of technical and skillful human resources required for the nation. It mainly involve in policy formulation, program implementation, quality control, preparation of competency based and other curriculum, developing skill standard and testing the skill of people, conduct various research studies, conduct short term skill and livelihood trainings, Conduct pre-diploma, diploma and PCL level courses through constituted, partnership and Technical Education at Community School(TECS) as well affiliated private institutions in Agriculture, Engineering, Health, Forestry and Hospitality sector.
CTEVT has 7 provincial offices. CTEVT Madhesh Province Office has been established in 2019 (2075 BS) and it has rented premises at Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan city ward number 5 Basahiya road. Madhesh province has 8 constituted Polytechnic, 14 partnership Polytechnic, 71 TECS and 59 affiliated private institutions to run pre-diploma, diploma and PCL level various courses on agriculture, engineering, health, forestry and hospitality sector. It has also 125 Institutions to run short term skill and livelihood training courses. The province office is solely responsible to regulate, monitor, supervise institutions providing TVET activities, conduct various examinations and skill testing, assisting TVET policy formulation and other TVET activities in Madhesh Province.
Madhesh Province lies on central south part of Nepal. Madhesh Province has a total of 136 local governments, consisting of 1 metropolitan city, 3 sub-metropolitan cities, 73 municipalities, and 59 rural municipalities. These local governments are organized into 8 districts viz. Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mohottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara and Parsa. Each districts has several Municipalities. Municipalities are Local Governments designed to serve Nepali people.
Madhesh Province has a geographical area of 9,661 square kilometers, which is about 6.56% of Nepal's total area. It is located in the southeastern part of the country, bordered by India to the south, Bagmati and Koshi Province to the north, Koshi Province to the east and India and Bagmati Province to the west. Though geographically it is the smallest province, it has the second highest population among all province of Nepal. According to 2021 Nepal census, population of Madhesh Province is 6,114,600.
